From the 19th to 20th century, the encounter of Nusantara’s abundant land with world cultural diversity have made Batavia a Resilient Asian Cosmopolitan City. Not only had it become the center of Southeast Asian trade hub, but Batavia also played a crucial role in providing the route for the trade of the spices with its innumerable benefits and best quality from the east of archipelago for various nations that sailed to Batavia.
In the present moment, the spirit of Batavia has still been evoking a hint of its gleam in the heart of our nation. To honour our ancestral legacy and memorializing the glory, hence, the new Batavia was born—Batavia PIK Jakarta. A glorious floating city that nestles in the middle of PIK Canal that offers a breathtaking view of scenery alongside a wide range of First Class dining experience. It holds the vision to become the epicenter of greatness, symbolized by the famous north star that guides our ancestors to sail across the sea. The city with rich festivity where diversity is seen as a beautiful harmony. It is a land full of story and a land full of celebration. The organic shape of the identity is inspired by compass as well as Batavia PIK’s architecture.
We are using clove as the spice for the identity to represent Indonesia’s spice trade origin which is arranged to be cohesive part of north star silhouette. Often incorporated both in the old Batavia logo and current Jakarta logo, the leaves wreath symbolize wealth, glory, and prosperity. Lines that visualize the silhouette of firework amplify the sense of festivity and convey the message, “A Land to Celebrate.”
